Style Diary: She, I Do Adore.

Next month, my little girl won’t  only be learning the piano,  she will be taking voice lessons too. Apparently, even the teachers strongly appreciate and wants to cultivate her music inclinations. Like i wrote before, she really is our little entertainer and it wouldn’t hurt to help and support the desires of her own heart. Her piano lesson today went as smoothly as the first time.  After her lesson, she was invited by the  school’s voice teacher to watch one of her students vocalization and singing exercises. What was supposed to be a quiet observation  become a spontaneous and fun mini performance as she joined and belted out some hyped up modern dance songs with the the teacher and the student.  Too fun in fact that the voice coach invited her to become their little guest on the upcoming concert of her students due tentatively on March 28. I was thrilled of course, but more than that, my little girl unabashedly accepted the invitation– as if she  already understood what the word concert means. Hahahaha. When Dad picked us up he treated us for a pizza binge and the four of us went to a picnic at SM Mall’s car park. We came just in time to watch the beautiful sunset and its golden rays. Ahhh… this is the kind of life that i am truly grateful for. My family is my own pride and joy.

Style Diary: Joy is a flower that blooms when you do.

This is mostly our weekly routine with my little girl. Regardless of the day, if its her play time, it means we are up to a long hour of her fun activities. Of all the things i love, this is one of it.  I’m not complaining because i get to be a kid too. It’s true,  it’s always never too late to catch up again on your childhood. And, its best to be happy no matter what life brings. For whatever purpose our trials t serve, happiness is one way of being wise.

What I’m Wearing: Vintage leggings (hand me down from mom), black bolero, H&M black tank top, multi strand chain necklace, Janeo gold studded flats, bag from Singapore.

Weekends don’t count unless you spend them doing something completely pointless.

Bad news, good news, life must go on. It shouldn’t be made shorter by pessimism and trials.  Yesterday,  Our family’s one sole wish has been granted and we couldn’t be any happier to know that soon, we could finally start our own life together on our own little haven of love. It’s not really final yet but we are glad we are halfway there. We have waited a long time and with much patience it was given to us. And in sickness and in health, the greatest blessing is strength. What seems to us bitter trials are often blessings in disguise. Truly, God is awesome. (Our prayers should be for blessings in general, for God knows best what is good for us.- Socrates. )

Here we are on a Saturday afternoon of nothingness.  Weekends don’t count unless you spend them doing something completely pointless.

Style Dairy: This time we can be like this.

I was going out to run some errands. But before that, my mom caught up with me in a picture taking fun on a scorching afternoon.

What I’m wearing: Random brand top, Guess belt with chain, People are People shoes, Zara sunnies, animal print bag from Lipstick.

POsh-itively Glamourous and Likeable!

If i had one closet to raid it would be Victoria Beckham’s! Oh gawd, the shoes!! But more than her effervescent fashion style, i do like her. Despite the snottiness in her photos ( she never, ever smiles) she seems to be a woman completely her own.

Once in an  aritcle on her,  99% of the comments were positive. She sounds like a great mom, great wife to David and a great business woman. You never hear of her losing her temper and being mean or rude to people and she said her kids are taught manners and even have their our personalized stationary to write their Thank You’s.

When she had her short stint at American Idol i saw she finally smiled and cajoled with the other judges. She finally publicly loosened up a bit and showed a little of her personality. It was an unexpected surprise but i think her smile gained more praises than her outfits at AI.

She was also very approachable on Project Runway, and the regular judges had nothing but great things to say about her. She makes it pretty clear she only looks diva but doesn’t act diva.

And i just soo love her in this cover of Glamour Magazine for March. So cute indeed!

Victoria on being Posh: “I’m not a supermodel”

Victoria Beckham is rarely snapped without her super-high heels and oversize shades, but, the star reveals, her “Posh” persona is hardly an accurate portrayal of her. “I love fashion, and that’s how I express myself,” Victoria tells Glamour in their March issue. “When I dress in a certain way and do my hair and makeup in a certain way, it’s not to get attention. I’m not a supermodel. I make the best of what I’ve got. I work out to look the best that I can, but I’m no Gisele.” In fact, Victoria even cops to suffering for her love of fashion, just like the rest of us. Of her signature stilettos, the 35 year-old admits, “Absolutely they hurt. I’m not going to lie. But no pain, no gain, as they say. I don’t mind. I will suffer. I don’t wear heels every day, but when I’m out, that’s how I feel confident.”

Movie Watch: Couples Retreat

The film started out with much comedic promise considering what might be considered a power cast movie which stars Vince Vaughn, Kristen Bell, and  Jon Favreau among others. The story revolves around four couples who settle into a tropical-island resort for a vacation. While one of the couples is there to work on the marriage, the others fail to realize that participation in the resort’s therapy sessions is not optional. And that somehow through their clouded intentions in an amazingly beautiful paradise some supposedly climaxes and highlights of the whole story was created. But the script failed, the power casting has failed, the funny punchlines failed. The only thing that will make it bearable to watch is if you are drinking booze  (lots of it) and you are in no mood to watch any thing heavy or serious or something that will not make you feel or think anything at all. Kinda funny in a way, but its kinda stupid too.  However you will  be amazed at the amazingly exotic location. Bora Bora truly is a paradise.

Yoko’s piano Lesson: Day 1 ♥

My little girl spent 30 mins listening to her teacher in Yamaha School of Music. It is her first lesson and she enjoyed it sans the first day jitters.

Lady Gaga is a monster!

Lady Gaga at the Grammy’s. She took home the awards for Best Electronic/Dance Album for The Fame and Best Dance Recording for “Poker Face”. And,  how cool are her outfits! Hurray, were dancing to this current fave video! Also an Amazing, amazing  performance with Sir E lton John.

Style Diary: Rips and Keys

Piano keys, that is. Today, i enrolled my little girl in a piano lesson and i am so happy and proud that at two and a half she was allowed to take the baby course because of her early recognition of numbers  and despite her age being considered too young, her body appears older otherwise. It was her passion to music that made me do so, she has this uncanny desire to musically play and learn and she is never embarrassed to entertain and perform her classy song and dance numbers in front of people. She made me really proud, i wanted to cry while i watch her  playfully hit those piano keys. I never had the same privilege when i was her age. But as her parent, i can only be joyful in supporting her wants and needs. She really was enthusiastic and there in that  moment, It was like watching myself in her  without really imposing it. Whatever comes out of this, i would be at her back, devoid of expectations. For now,  I just want her to enjoy  her chances and be the loved baby  girl hitting those keys…
